London Underground experience: a 360º virtual reality tour
Kallidus recently worked in partnership with Transport for London to explore the world of VR in learning. The result was a 2-minute virtual reality experience of London Underground.
How to experience the TfL virtual reality demo
Follow the instructions below to access the London Underground virtual reality experience. All you need is a smartphone, a head-mounted display (HMD) headset and an internet connection.
If you picked up a free Google Cardboard headset from the Kallidus stand at Learning Technologies 2017, you can use this to experience the London Underground virtual reality tour! Here's how...
Using your Android or iOS smartphone, click either image above in your web browser – this will launch the video in the YouTube app for the full VR experience. Alternatively, search for ‘Kallidus’ on YouTube and open from the Kallidus channel video library.
If you’re using a VR headset, look for the small headset symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of the video start screen in YouTube, and select this to activate the split screen virtual reality mode.
Place your smartphone inside your headset and experience the London Underground virtual reality tour!
You can also view the video in 2D on your PC. Go to www2.kallidus.com/VR-TfL in your browser (Google Chrome works well) – the video will launch automatically and then simply click and drag to look around you 360 degrees.
Get in touch if you’d like to explore how VR could be part of your L&D programme.
